XP tips

XP tip #1
If XP refuses to trash a file or folder because its in use by windows, internet explorer or windows explorer, try this:
1.open the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete, or rightclick taskbar)
2.close/terminate explorer (exlorer.exe)
3.start cmd thru new task/run under "File"
4.locate the subject wanted for termination and erase/delete it (if u don't know cmd/dos search google or somethin)
5.start explorer again like the way u started cmd, or reboot
Hopefully, the file or folder is now gone and u didn't have to start Windows in safe mode.

XP tip #2
If ure used to play with regedit, i'm sure u already figured this one out, but if not check this out. Sometimes programs add stuff to the registry whcih u most likely don't know about, and if u wanna delete em u just can't because u got no permission. If so, do this:
1.start regedit
2.find the key/value/string/whatever u wanna erase
3.click on the related key (folder icon) and click "permissions"
4.make sure u have full control, if not just add a user called "everyone" and give it full control
5.press ok and delete what needs to be deleted
This "victim" of urs should now be gone.
Please bear in mind that Windows registry is VERY fragile and so don't mess with it too much, or u might really screw things up! But also know Windows puts a lot of unneeded stuff in the registry.
