Malaysian Taxi
Ok, so I’m pretty upset now. DAMN taxis! Got some suggestions for the companies which “offer” the much-needed taxi service; especially Public Cab.
My suggestions are the following:
Be on time! Mark the cars! Don’t lie! Clean the CARS! No smelly cabs! No smelly drivers! Fix the meters! Don’t steal!
There you go.
So why am I so upset then? Well obviously, I got some problems with the taxis. The problems are just mentioned. For the ones who didn’t quite get it.
So here’s the first one: Be on time!
How often don’t you wait for the taxi 5-10 minutes? Like always! And when they’re finally in time – you’re naturally not. Then the driver nags that you are in fact late and he’s in a hurry, or something. When the taxi’s late you can’t say a thing cause then he’ll (or she) probably drive off cursing you, making you stand there without any cab. Like a fool.
The second: Mark the cars!
Why aren’t cars from different taxi companies marked differently?! It’s really annoying that all are the same color and have the same stickers. It’s also stupid cause then you can’t really tell the difference between the companies. Oh yeah, we have the yellow damn expensive one. Like I’m going with that. Right, I’m a millionaire. I don’t know if it’s whether it’s the government or the companies that agreed on this, but it’s not good. Every single taxi company and driver would benefit if you could tell them apart. Isn’t it really common sense?
The third: Don’t lie!
Isn’t it extremely annoying when people lie to you? Sure it is. You hate it. We all do. So why is there that taxi companies are allowed to lie? You call them and the operator replies “taxi’s on the way!”, and even gives you the number which by the way can be either the car’s registration number or the number of taxi. Anyway, fine you say and wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. After 15 minutes you start to wonder if the damn taxi is ever gonna come. Then you call the company up – if you ever get through – and then they say “sorry, no cab”. No cab!? But you just told me the taxi is ion the way. Even gave me the damn number! But no. No taxi for you. Humph. So you’re gonna call another company and hope the same thing doesn’t happen again.
Advice number four: “Clean the CARS!
Ever seen a dirty and unhygienic taxi? I bet you have. You’re probably seen a lot. I’m just guessing here, but isn’t there some STANDARDS the companies – and taxi drivers – should and must follow? I mean, there are those stickers everywhere saying that the taxis should be clean and healthy, and that the driver should act in a civilized manner and so. Well if these rules exist, why aren’t they followed? Why isn’t it like that? Didn’t ever someone from the health department or ministry take a taxi raid? Ah yeah they did, but probably never they ordinary, common cause they had either limo cab or the expensive yellow one. If you’re a taxi driver, I suggest you clean your car. After all, you’re supposed to be offering a SERVICE to people – that PAY for the ride.
So to the fifth: No smelly cars!
I’m sure nobody wants to travel in a stinking taxi that makes both you and you’re clothes stink. There’s really no point in saying any more here. I want an odorless car! We all do!
The sixth advice: No smelly drivers!
This one goes hand in hand with the previous. I don’t want a smelly cab, and I sure as hell don’t want a smelly driver. When you’re driving a taxi, and again offering a service, you should act and smell in certain sense ways. Or perhaps I should say don’t smell in certain ways… Common people, wake up! Spray your cars! Buy perfume! Do something but don’t smell!
Number seven: Fix the meters!
Why issit that one taxi charge you one amount and another taxi another amount, even though you went the same way, for the same time? Ok, I know the traffic – big problem. Many jams. But hey, there’s not always jams. Yet prices sometimes fluctuate like I don’t know what. But let’s be honest, the fee is usually acceptable and somewhat similar. Then we have the bad guys of the business; the ones that go WITHOUT a meter and charge naive customers shameless prices. Like the guys lurking outside IKEA. They are real criminals. Pure MAFFIA. I assume they trick foreigners more then they can locals. Cause we all know foreigners are stupid and easy to fool, huh? Not. Think again. Turn that meter on and be honest will ya!
Then to the last one: Don’t steal!
Ok so we reached the destination and paid for the trip. You sit there and are waiting for you’re change but none is coming. The driver is trying to fool you on your hard earned cents and just sit there and looks at the sky or something. Like wondering IF you’re ever gonna leave. When – and if – you actually bother to ask them about the change, they forgot about it or got no change. Yeah right! Others get mad and irritated I try to tipp them and lecture you that they have a great job and aren’t poor, and so on. Hmmm.
Just want to add that some customers – not the drivers in this case – are surprisingly rude and often snatch taxis right in front of you. Like they’re all alone there. Like there’s no line at the taxi stand. Nah, just go and steal the taxis in front of everybody. No, I believe there’s a point of having lines at taxi stands. Get in line if you want a taxi!
But anyway, this article has one point: to inform you guys who are dependent on taxi that the taxi companies want, and are going to, raise prices with maybe as much as 50%. They blame it on expensive petrol. Fine, go ahead. Raise the prices. I can accept that. But improve the service and quality if so. Many, many cars need to be 'processed'. I don’t think anyone wants to pay more for the current standard. I sure as hell don’t. Who wants to ride a dirty and smelly taxi with such prices? Hello, I pay for the ride here! I should and want to, be driven in a clean taxi that don’t smell. I want the driver to be clean and odorless too! Naturally, not all taxis are dirty and unhygienic. Some are actually very fresh and nice, and the drivers of these taxis are usually very nice as well. Demand better service when they raise prices! Force the taxi companies to implement these suggestions! It's your money! Take a stand you people!
